چکیده
A luminescent cyclometalated platinum(II) complex has been shown to sandwich a silver ion, which demonstrates intense luminescence with appreciable photoluminescence quantum yield. Computational studies have been performed to provide insights into the nature of the photophysical properties.

Luminescent sensing and formation of mixed f-d metal ion complexes between a Eu(iii)-cyclen-phen conjugate and Cu(ii), Fe(ii), and Co(ii) in buffered aqueous solution.
The synthesis and photophysical properties of the Eu(iii) complex , based on the use of 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) as a combined sensitizing antenna and a transition metal ion coordinating ligand, is described. The long-wavelength Eu(iii) emission from this complex was found to be highly pH sensitive, giving rise to a 'off-on-off' pH profile with maximum emission occurring within the physiologi...
متن کاملSynthesis and photophysical studies of self-assembled multicomponent supramolecular coordination prisms bearing porphyrin faces.
Multicomponent self-assembly, wherein two unique donor precursors are combined with a single metal acceptor instead of the more common two-component assembly, can be achieved by selecting Lewis-basic sites and metal nodes that select for heteroligated coordination spheres. Platinum(II) ions show a thermodynamic preference for mixed pyridyl/carboxylate coordination environments and are thus suit...
متن کاملTemplated Formation of Luminescent Virus-like Particles by Tailor-Made Pt(II) Amphiphiles
Virus-like particles (VLPs) have been created from luminescent Pt(II) complex amphiphiles, able to form supramolecular structures in water solutions, that can be encapsulated or act as templates of cowpea chlorotic mottle virus capsid proteins. By virtue of a bottom-up molecular design, icosahedral and nonicosahedral (rod-like) VLPs have been constructed through diverse pathways, and a relation...
متن کاملLuminescent supramolecular soft nanostructures from amphiphilic dinuclear Re(I) complexes.
Luminescent metallo-surfactants based on highly emissive dinuclear Re(I) complexes have been synthesized combining the peculiar photophysical behaviour of this class of neutral hydrophobic complexes with new properties imparted by hydrophilic chains anchored on the coordinated chromophoric ligand. In solution, the resulting neutral amphiphiles tend to self-assembly in soft structures. The aggre...
متن کاملConstruction of a photoactive supramolecular system based on a platinum(II) bis-acetylide building block incorporated into a ruthenium(II) polypyridyl complex.
A new ruthenium(ii) polypyridyl-platinum(ii) diethynyl triad containing 3-ethynylphenanthroline linked by platinum(ii) bis-tributylphosphine organometallics, Ru(ii)-Pt(ii)-Ru(ii), and platinum(ii) bis-ethynylphenanthroline complex has been prepared. The ruthenium(ii)-metal triads, Ru(ii)-M-Ru(ii) (M = Pt(ii) and Au(i)), showed typical MLCT absorption bands and a lowest energy pi-pi* absorption ...
